41. Out to Sea
Rosella continued swimming, as her limbs grew weaker and weaker with no land in sight. Occasionally her limbs would
fail her, and she would take an unpleasant dunk, and receive a hearty gulp of saltwater. These occasions became more
and more frequent until she had no strength left at all. Her tired body gave out after a short bout of kicking and
reaching. Her head breached the surface taking furious gulps of air once, twice, three times. Alas, the weary princess
had no strength left for a fourth. Rosella held her last breath in blown out cheeks as long as she could as she sank
down to join Davy Jones in his locker. THIS is what they mean by “save enough strength for the journey back,” she
realized too late.
